How and where to get an „Alumnus" Account?

The Alumnus Account is a free email account for university graduates. It is the best opportunity to stay in contact with your alma mater.

You do not need to sign up. If you have an active student account we have already signed you up for an Alumnus Account. The account arrangement will be done automatically.

Account arrangement includes automatic email forwarding for life from your student account to the "Alumnus" account. The student account will be closed after one year, but the email forwarding will remain active.

If you plan further studies (e.g. phd study) a new student account will be opened.

Your new email address with the domain name 'alumni.unileoben.ac.at' can be forwarded to another external email address and is yours for life.

What is my username?

username = m + matriculation number

Password Rules

• Password change is only possible in your user zone in MUonline.

• Choose a password with at least 6 characters.

• Automatic Password synchronisation between your active student email account and your new alumnus email account is enabled. If you have still your student email account and you change your password, both systems are adjusted.

Validity period - Cancelling your account:

The alumnus account will only be cancelled in the case of special conditions:

• The alumnus does not want an alumnus account.
• The password will not be changed by the alumnus before deadline.

Cancelling the account is possible by every student itself via MUonline, if there is no need for this alumnus account. („Visitenkarte" -> „Accountstatus" -> "Dienste"). Every alumnus will be informed before a password has to be changed via email from the MUonline system.

Also for alumni with a deleted account, it is possible to keep the alumni email address lifelong and reserved. A reactivation of the alumnus account is possible with a PIN, and therefore the reserved addresses are reconnected with the account.

Terms of use:

Each alumnus/alumna has to comply with the ITS Terms Of Use. It is not allowed to share the password with other people.
