What is the name of my email address?
Every graduated student with a still active student account gets automatically an email address. You can look up the name of the email address in MUonline. Log into the system and visit your personal desktop. In this menu it is also possible to create a name for an email wish address or to activate forwarding.
By default your email address is analogue to the student email address, with the ending ‘@alumni.unileoben.ac.at’.
If you still have your student account (students who have graduated 2 semesters before winter semester 2008 usually do not have one anymore) the account arrangement will be done automatically, after deactivating your student email account.
ATTENTION: The student account will be deleted 2 semesters after graduation. During this time the account is still available but not accessible for the student anymore (your account is inactive). There is an opportunity to check the emails during those 2 semesters, if you activate forwarding (for example to the Alumnus-address), before it will be deleted. Please refer to: https://studmail.unileoben.ac.at. Every student will be given notice by email 5 weeks before the account is going to be deactivated.
Please control if there is no forwarding from the alumnus account to the student account, before you are going to set forwarding from the student account to the alumnus account. This would lead to a mail loop and during these 2 semesters you will not receive any kind of messages.
Which mail services are available?
- Forwarding (for all Alumni available)
- Mailbox + webmail (Until the foundation of an alumni union, this service is not fully available)
Forwarding (at the moment the best option)
This service offers the opportunity to forward mails to another email client (for example to your company email client or Gmail, GMX etc.). This service is available for every alumnus; it does not depend on a membership in the alumni union. The forwarding can be set in MUonline.
Mailbox and webmail
Mailbox, webmail login and the login via email client are only available for alumni union members. If you need any configuration help, refer to the help system in the webmail (button “'Help", bottom right).
If you need any informtion concering the alumni union membership, call Fr. Irene Bauer (DW 7201). After membership registration an email inbox is opened automatically. Mails will be sent automatically to the alumni mail system if there is no forwarding to another email client. Sending method (forwarding or mailbox) can be changed in MUonline (your own desktop -> "Accountstatus").
