The most contented university students of Austria study at the University of Leoben. This has now been proven by a recently released annual and representative student survey, carried out by the consulting agency “Universum Communication”. The University of Leoben has received similarly prominent distinctions in the final report of the "trendence Graduate Barometer 2010", a survey conducted by the "trendence” Institute. Between November, 2009 and March, 2010, "Universum", which has its headquarters in Stockholm, questioned 5,100 students at 23 Austrian universities and universities of applied science about their perception of their own academic institution, their preferred future employers, and their career ambitions. The study focused on students enrolled in business, technical and scientific degree programmes. "trendence" from Hamburg questioned 220,000 European students, among them 3,964 Austrian students, on similar subjects last winter. When it came to questions of contentment dealing with certain aspects of the study environment, the University of Leoben always achieved at least the general average grade in all aspects questioned. It is particularly noteworthy that the students of the University of Leoben rated the university’s reputation, its close ties to industry, and the high quality of the training significantly better than their fellow students at other academic institutions in Austria. The University of Leoben also received outstanding results well above the Austrian and European average in the "trendence" survey in terms of reputation, cooperation with employers and international orientation. Moreover, in the survey Leoben students emphasized among other things that the living expenses are low in Leoben, and exhibited an extremely positive attitude when asked about their professional future. Thus, the study is once more proof of the excellent career prospects that graduates of the University of Leoben have. |
