Vice Rectors Elected Print
The vice rectors for the next term of office were appointed in the meeting of the University Council on March 11th 2011. In a unanimous decision, Dr. Martha Mühlburger was appointed ‘Vice Rector for Fincances’, and Univ. Prof. Peter Moser ‘Vice Rector for International Relations’.


As ‘Vice Rector for Administrative Management’, Dr. Martha Mühlburger has already been part of the Rectorate for the past eight years. Univ.Prof. Peter Moser is Head of the Chair of Mineral Engineering.

In a first statement, Rector-designate Wilfried Eichlseder was content with the decision. “The University Council supported unanimously the proposals of the Senate, which also coincided with my own recommendations.”

Dr. Martha Mühlburger studied Materials Science at the Montanuniversitaet Leoben, and has been  vice rector for eight years. She is executive manager of the university-based Center of Applied Technology, and is responsible for a number of special projects concerning regional development and the infrastructure expansion of the university campus.

Univ.Prof. Peter Moser studied Mining Engineering in Leoben with a focus on tunelling. Having completed his master’s studies, Moser started to work for a tunnel construction company. He returned to the Montanuniversitaet in 1984, where he graduated and habilitated and spent time abroad in France, Canada, the United States and Australia. From 2006 to 2010, Moser was Head of the Department Mineral Resources and Petroleum Engineering which includes seven Chairs in the field of mineral resources.
