True to the motto „experiencing and understanding metals”, high school students from all over Austria are visiting the Montanuniversitaet Leoben in order to explore the different fields of research as well as the city of Leoben during the "Metal Days" from July 4th-7th, 2011. Metals are indispensable in everyday life. For a broad range of high-tech products, from underwater pipelines to airplanes up to mobile phones or computers - metals play an essential role in our lives. In order to guarantee constant innovation in this exciting field of research, innovative, young people with a strong interest in technology are highly sought-after. Hence, the Department of Metallurgy at the Montanuniversitaet Leoben is eager to promote and strongly support the next generation of metallurgists.
