Lotus Notes


Lotus Notes/Domino is a groupware product, which was introduced in 1998 at the University of Leoben. Today it is the leading communication platform campus wide. The featured capabilities are email, calendaring and contact management. We also develop own custom Notes applications and components.

Size Limits

Actual file size / mailbox limits:

Maximum Email Message Size 20 MB 20 MB
Maximum Email Storage Size 1 GB 300 MB
Email Archive Folder 10 GB not available

Email Archiving

All your email that is one year old (or older) and taking up valuable space will get automatically archived. If your mailbox limit is reached it may be necessary to manually archive your emails. Also consider deleting old items.

Ways to access Lotus Notes

Lotus Notes Client

The best way to handle your emails and applications.

Once the account creation process has started and you have an email account our callcenter  installs the client software.

It is also possible to copy the Lotus Notes client to a USB device (recommended system requirements:  USB 2.0-compliant device, flash drive larger than 1GB), that can plug into any Microsoft Windows workstation.

Webmail

Webmail access: https://nmail.unileoben.ac.at. The account name is your p-number (Staff-ID) and  the password is your Lotus Notes Internet-password.

POP3/IMAP

Attention: POP3 and IMAP require SSL. Please choose an email client which supports SSL protocols (E.g. actual versions of Mozilla Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook).

Password: Lotus Notes Internet-password
IMAPs port: 993
POP3S port: 995
