Hardware Standards (Date: April 4, 2008)

ITS installs and maintains BKuA PC Desktops. We are staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

PROCESSOR: AMD or Intel Core2Duo
MOTHERBOARD: Graphics controller and sound hardware oboard
HARD DRIVE: Capacity 160 GB or more
RAM: 2GB DDR2
DRIVES: DVD-RW, Floppy
SYSTEM CASE: Mid-tower
PC MONITOR: 19" TFT
PRINTER: Laser Printer


"Power User"

A "Power user" requires more scientific software. The hardware and network standards are higher.
  • Supported operating systems: Microsoft Windows, UNIX and LINUX.
  • The "Power User" has administrator privileges.
  • The usual quality criteria apply for "Office User" comparable hardware standards and software applications.
  • Installation of special hardware and software only in close cooperation with the scientist.
