Industrial Environmental Protection Print

The degree program offers a multifaceted and comprehensive education in engineering as a basis for a wide variety of professional activities. Environmental engineers are responsible for environmentally compatible technology and work as competent consultants for all environmental issues.

Recent developments demonstrate that a high degree of environmental protection can already be achieved by environmentally compatible product design and efficient production processes. Pollutant emissions and industrial waste can therefore be avoided or minimized. This demands creativity, holistic thinking and expertise in engineering in order to conceive processes under environment-friendly but also economic aspects in the first place.

Due to the rising legal, ecological, and economic demands, technical solutions in the field of environmental engineering are required nowadays more than ever before. Technical solutions for further reduction of emissions, for efficient use of renewable and non-renewable resources, for recycling, waste avoidance, land utilization and much more. In order to protect the environment efficiently, the keynote of environmental engineering “avoidance, minimization and recycling” must be implemented from industry to every single member of our society.

Modern environmental engineering must gain a more and more profound understanding of the material-specific interrelations and at the same time try to view processes and their impact on mankind and environment comprehensively.

Program description

Undergraduate program: 7 semesters, thereof 4 semesters efficient education in natural sciences and subject-oriented fields and 3 semesters intensification: professional education in process engineering or supply and waste management technology.

Graduate program: 3 semesters, thereof 2 semesters of specialization in industrial environmental engineering + 1 semester for the diploma thesis.
