The results of the "
Studierenden-Sozialerhung 2015", a survey conducted by the Federal Ministry of Science, Resarch and Economy, are also more than positiv. Leoben has by far the lowest housing costs in comparison to all other university locations. In the spring semester of 2015, Austrian students had to pay an average of 389 euros per month, however Leoben students only spent an average of 304 euros per month for their accommodation. Thus, according to the latest survey, Montanuniversität Leoben students are the most satisfied of all Austrian students in terms of their housing costs.
Another interesting fact is that the geographic location of the University only pays a minor role for prospective students whereas factors such as future income opportunities, situation of the job market, social prestige after graduation are essential.
