1992: First congress exhibition

The first DepoTech congress exhibition focusing on landfill technology and waste mining is launched by a working group consisting of the Technical University of Leoben (MUL), Technologie Transfer Zentrum Leoben (TTZ) and Bergmännischer Verband Österreichs (BVÖ). Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont. Dirk Hengerer from TTZ is in charge of the project.

The exhibition will take place every two years in the future.

There are 23 presentations and 26 exhibitors presenting on site. 
The number of participants is approx. 400.
The book accompanying the congress exhibition comprises 231 pages.

 

 
2002: Karl E. Lorber takes over

On the 10th anniversary of the congress, Prof. Karl E. Lorber takes over as director, and from this point on, the scientific basis becomes even more prominent.

There are 46 presentations, 30 posters and 22 exhibitors presenting on site. 
The number of participants is approx. 450.
The book accompanying the congress comprises 538 pages.

 

 

2014: Roland Pomberger takes over

After starting work in 2011, Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont. Roland Pomberger and o.Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Karl E. Lorber are working side by side to organize the 2012 conference. 
Following the retirement of Karl E. Lorber at the end of 2013, Roland Pomberger took over sole responsibility for the conference

There are 107 presentations, 32 posters and 16 exhibitors presenting on site. 
The number of participants is approx. 500.
The book accompanying the congress comprises 900 pages.

 

 

2016: Change of name

The conference now covers topics ranging from landfill to recycling. Therefore, a change of the “brand” is inevitable. The name changed from DepoTech to Recy & DepoTech.

There are 122 presentations, 41 posters and 22 exhibitors presenting on site. 
The number of participants is approx. 550.
The book accompanying the congress comprises 1,032 pages.

 

 

2020: Virtual conference

The entire world is affected by Covid-19. A decision must be made: cancel the conference or find an alternative?
We opt for the virtual world of Meetyoo and discuss/present virtually.

There are 121 virtual presentations, 24 virtual posters and 31 exhibitors presenting in vitual exhibition stands. 
The number of participants is approx. 570.
The book accompanying the congress comprises 1,000 pages.

2024: Last conference held

There are 163 presentations, 52 posters, 2 workshops and 18 exhibitors presenting on site. 
The number of participants is 752.
Due to its length, the conference book must be split into two volumes. The book containing the presentations comprises 1,024 pages, while the book containing the poster contributions comprises 311 pages.
