A key task of the chair AVAW ist he education of qualified environmental engineers with high professional skills in waste management, waste technology and process engineering.

In 2022, a study reform took place at Technical University of Leoben.

During this reform, the name of our field of studies Industrial Environmental Protection and Process Engineering (IU) was also changed.
Starting with the winter semester 2022/2023, our field of studies is called Environmental and Climated Protection Technology - short UKT.

Within the field of studies UKT the students can select between two main subjects:

• Climate Protection and Process Engineering (chair VTIU)
• Environmental and Waste Engineering (chair AVAW)
