The Verbands Leobener Kunststofftechniker (VLK) serves as a dynamic platform for connecting graduates, students, and the business community with the Department of Plastics Engineering at the Montanuniversität Leoben. In addition to actively supporting students—for example, through field trips and educational materials—the association provides an ideal foundation for knowledge transfer and entry into professional life. Through company presentations and alumni gatherings, the VLK strengthens the cohesion of the entire Leoben plastics community. https://www.vlk.community/

The Verein Leobener Werkstoffwissenschafter (VLW), founded in 1989, serves as a central platform for connecting students, alumni, and partner companies of the Montanuniversität Leoben. The association’s primary purpose is to strengthen the direct link between university education and industry in a sustainable manner. In addition to organizing field trips and regular VLW meetings for information exchange, the association provides concrete support to its community in their daily professional lives by maintaining a comprehensive alumni database and facilitating targeted job offers and summer internships. In this way, the VLW forms a reliable, lifelong network for the Leoben materials science community. https://vlw.ac.at/

The Alumni Club serves as the central, interdisciplinary network for all graduates and friends of the Montanuniversität Leoben. Under the motto “Connected by Montanism,” the association builds a lifelong bridge between the university, the business community, and its former students. The Club supports the professional development of its members through its own job portal and targeted information resources, and fosters personal interaction through regular networking events and get-togethers. Through close collaborations and dual memberships with study-specific associations (such as the VLK and VLW), the Alumni Club makes a significant contribution to the interdisciplinary cohesion of the entire Leoben community. https://www.alumni.unileoben.ac.at/

The Austrian Society for Metallurgy and Materials (ASMET) is the leading Austrian network for professionals, researchers, and companies in the field of metallurgy and materials engineering. With a tradition spanning over 100 years, the society serves as a central link between science, industrial practice, and university education. Its core activities include cross-industry knowledge transfer through high-profile professional events (such as the ASMET Forum), the publication of scientific findings, and work in specialized technical committees. Through its own student section in Leoben, ASMET also specifically supports the next generation of academics and optimally prepares young talent for the challenges of the modern workplace through direct industry contacts. https://www.asmet.org
