As an essential element in closing the raw material cycle, recycling represents one of the core research areas at Montanuniversität Leoben.

In total, around 100 researchers across various chairs are working on more than 120 projects with a focus on recycling. Within the newly established Cluster of Excellence: Recycling, cross-institute collaboration is promoted, enabling more efficient use of scientific resources and a more comprehensive approach to solving challenges. In addition, the Recycling-Cluster serves as a central point of contact, thereby improving both internal and external communication. This is further supported by regular networking events such as seminars and symposia.
