Industrial Data Science

Field of study: Processes

Do you want to help shape industrial change?

As a data scientist, you translate data into decision-making bases for future projects. In the energy sector, you can predict wind and solar energy generation in smart energy grids, advance machine learning and AI at tech giants, or develop sustainable business models in industry and optimise the eco-efficiency of logistics systems.

For example, you can pursue a career as a machine learning engineer, applied AI engineer, or robotics data engineer.

How can we extract relevant information from complex data to serve as a basis for our future?

In the practical Bachelor's programme in Industrial Data Science, you will deal with topics such as sensor technology & automation, networks & cloud services, machine learning & AI, and simulation & modelling. You will also acquire interdisciplinary expertise in economics and business administration and combine digitalisation with other technologies to drive forward the digital transformation.

You will learn practical data analysis skills and gain a technical understanding of industrial processes so that you can use data science to promote social and industrial progress.

Master's programme

Ready to deepen your knowledge?

The master's programme combines classical engineering with state-of-the-art data analysis and is offered in English to prepare you for global challenges.

You can choose from the following (combinable) specialisations:

  • Sensors and Data Acquisition
  • Prediction and Control
  • Data Driven Modelling and Simulation
  • Operations and Supply Chain Management
  • Smart Manufacturing
  • Digitisation in Tunnelling
