Work experience for pupils

Are you interested in science, technology or digitalisation and would like to gain some initial insights into everyday working life at a university? Then you've come to the right place!

The Technical University of Leoben offers motivated school pupils the chance to gain insight into research, laboratory work, digitisation and engineering as part of a school work experience placement, working on exciting projects alongside our teams.

How the application process works

You can apply for a school work experience placement quickly and easily using the online form below. To ensure we can process your application efficiently and forward it to the relevant departments, please complete the form carefully and in full. Only then can we guarantee a prompt review.

BEFORE you start filling in the form, explore our departments and their exciting topics on our website. Click here to view the departments.

Please select three departments from the list where you would prefer to work. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences and interests, but we cannot guarantee a placement in your preferred department.

You must also upload your CV, a motivation letter (why do you want this placement in particular?), and your latest school report or certificate. Each document must be uploaded as a separate PDF with your surname clearly included in the file name, for example: “CV_Mueller-Eva.pdf”. Please have these files ready before you begin the form.

What happens after you apply?

After the application deadline, we will review all submitted documents and allocate you to a suitable department based on your interests and the available places. You will then be notified promptly whether your application has been successful. If successful, you will receive further information about the process, supervision, working hours, and safety instructions.
