On 29th October 2026, Prof. Dr. Fr. Joseph Chacko Chennattuserry, Vice Chancellor of CHRIST University, visited TU Leoben and met with Rector Univ.-Prof. Peter Moser to discuss opportunities for expanding academic and research cooperation between the two institutions.
The visit builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Bengaluru in February 2026 and subsequent academic exchanges, including the visit of CHRIST University representatives to Leoben in April this year.
Discussions focused on strengthening joint research activities, facilitating academic exchange and exploring opportunities for PhD student mobility, with the aim of developing sustainable, long-term cooperation.
Looking ahead, the two universities are exploring the possibility of welcoming up to seven PhD students from CHRIST University during the summer semester of 2027, with potential research activities under the supervision of TU Leoben's Chair of Applied Mathematics. While arrangements are still under discussion, this initiative represents a promising opportunity to further strengthen research cooperation.
The Vice Chancellor's visit marks another important step in deepening the partnership between Technical University of Leoben and CHRIST University, reinforcing a shared commitment to internationalisation, scientific exchange and long-term academic collaboration.
