29th Leoben-Conference on Polymer Engineering and Science 2021
50 years of Polymer Engineering and Science Leoben
Due to the corona-related situation, the 29th Leoben-Conference on Polymer Engineering and Science has been postponed to 2021. Although the anniversary year was already in 2020, five decades of polymer engineering were celebrated nonetheless. It was a brilliant event, with retrospectives on a 50-year past as well as outlooks on a challenging but equally promising future. From its very beginnings, the Department of Polymer Engineering and Science has always followed the trends in science and research. It has grown from two institutes into a strong network of six chairs and has had a strong partner in the Polymer Competence Center Leoben for more than 15 years. This field of opportunities and challenges was discussed on the basis of three main topics: Smart Production, Sustainability and Polymers and Additive Manufacturing.
