Attendance at the TMS 2026 conference

Researchers from the Department of Materials Science at Montanuniversität Leoben presented their latest research results at the prestigious TMS 2026 in San Diego, USA. From March 15 to 19, the 155th edition of this international conference brought together over 4,000 participants from 70 countries for 144 different symposia. The Chair of Materials Physics and scientists from the Erich Schmid Institute were on site with a ten-member delegation. For the Leoben researchers, the gathering with international experts provided an excellent platform to establish valuable contacts and explore future research collaborations. The diverse program also offered exciting insights into new methods and innovative topics. Complex scientific questions could be explored in depth in one-on-one conversations immediately following the presentations or during breaks. The five invited presentations by the Leoben researchers, as well as the four symposia they organized, received particular attention. The intensive conference days finally came to a stimulating professional close in a relaxed atmosphere during the evening poster presentations.
