International Polymer Process Innovation Conference (PPI)
The 6th International Conference on Polymer Process Innovation (PPI) will take place in Leoben from September 1 to 4, 2026, and is being organized by the Institute for Polymer Processing at the Department of Polymer Engineering and Science. The event brings together renowned experts from science and industry to discuss and exchange the latest advances in the fields of polymers and composites, tooling technologies, and innovations in polymer processing.
In its 6th edition, PPI 2026 focuses on three strategic themes that define the Department of Polymer Engineering and Science’s research priorities—Sustainable Polymers, Smart Polymers, and Digital Polymer Science excellence with industrial relevance.
- Sustainable Polymers: Circular economy solutions—mechanical/chemical recycling, design‑for‑recycling, LCA/carbon footprint, and bio‑based/biodegradable materials.
- Smart Polymers: Function‑integrated materials—stimuli‑responsive behavior, embedded sensors, functional surfaces, and multi‑material/hybrid processes.
- Digital Polymer Science: Data‑driven development—ML‑assisted material modeling, process simulation/digital twins, real‑time control, and AI‑based quality assurance.
Join researchers and industry leaders to advance polymer processing that is sustainable, smart, and digital.
