E-Mobility

The European University on Responsible Consumption and Production EURECA-PRO hosted an Open Science Event. The panel discussion was hosted by Antenne Steiermark radio host Thomas Axmann, who has been dealing with the topic E-mobility already for a few years.

The invited experts from industry and research were Günter Getzinger (TU Graz - Environmental Technology, Technology Assessment), Roland Pomberger (Head of Chair of Waste Processing Technology and Waste Management MUL), Thomas Haid (Recycling company Saubermacher) und Martin Rothbart (Company AVL List). The discussion lasted over 2 hours and was structured along the 4 topics: Raw materials extraction, Production, Usage and Recycling of electric cars. The following questions were discussed:

  • Am I a good and responsible consumer if I buy an electric car or bike?
  • What happens if we all have e-bikes and e-cars?
  • Will it damage our electricity supply? Or save us from air pollution?

The event took place in front of a live audience at hotel Asia Spa in Leoben and was streamed on YouTube. For those who want to watch the exciting discussion, a recording of the live stream is available on the EURECA-PRO YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/k7m-5mKaLRo
