A central topic of the discussions was the preparation of the DIM-ESEE conference (Development and Innovations in Mineral Resourcing), which will take place in Zagreb in 2026. In addition, there were intensive discussions on the progress made in joint and double degree programs in the fields of applied geology and mining engineering. The future development of the PRO-SLO partnership was also exlored.
Another focus was on the further integration of MiReBooks into study programs and upcoming educational initiatives. “MiReBooks” – short for Mixed Reality Handbooks for Mining Engineers – is a forward-looking educational format that combines classic learning content with interactive 3D models, 360° videos, and realistic simulations of mining processes.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to align strategic goals and define future measures with the aim of further expanding the close academic cooperation between the Technical University of Leoben and the University of Zagreb.
