The organisation ESUO offers to represent all users of synchrotron and free electron-laser facilities in Europe. Such state-of-the-art facilities enable various kinds of experiments in fields ranging from physics through life and material sciences to cultural heritage. At present, users from 32 European member states and European associated countries are represented by ESUO national delegates and representatives. Especially the Austrian synchrotron user community – without own national facility – uses most of all national synchrotron facilities across Europe and not only the pan-European synchrotron ESRF in Grenoble (France.)
Thus, a free and easy access based on scientific merit only, is a key ingredient for the very active Austrian synchrotron community.
