Photo Exhibition “175 Years Montanuniversität“

On Tuesday 28 April 2015, Rector Wilfried Eichlseder, along with regional ministers Dr. Bettina Vollath and Johann Seitinger, opened the photo exhibition “175 Years Montanuniversität”.

Dr. Christian Hasenhüttl, Curator of the exhibition and Director of the Library, explained that the university´s entire history is mirrored onto the corridor walls. A timeline on one side marks the University’s shaping events, “the other side reflects the last 25 years at the University. Topics which have experienced different degrees of importance throughout the decades are displayed here. These include the value-added chain, along which the University has orientated its research and education”.

Prominent Figures from Politics and Business

“Business and Science should interact in a symbiotic relationship,” the City councillor for economy, Willbald Mautner, underlines.

Regional Minister Johann Seitinger emphasised the interdependence of education, research and application of knowledge at Montanuniversität Leoben. Regional Minister Dr. Bettina Vollath drew attention to the future-orientated perspective of the University’s decision-makers.

The exhibition will be on show until October, and is located in the corridor connecting the main building and Erzherzog-Johann-Trakt.
