Rosa Mangold, school student at the Sir Karl Popper school at the Wiedner Gymnasium in Vienna, was awarded with the 1st place of the Dr. Hans Riegel-Fachpreis in the division chemistry for her Vorwissenschaftliche Arbeit with the title: “Herkunftsbestimmung von Lebensmitteln durch Isotopenanalyse“. For acquiring the practical understanding of isotope analysis in her thesis, she worked for one month in the research group isotope analysis at the Chair of General and Analytical Chemistry of the Technical University of Leoben in July 2024. Hereby, Rosa worked in the project “United by Crisis?” (https://www.united-by-crisis.at) on the miniaturization of the mass for analysis of soil samples. Her thesis was supervised at the Technical University of Leoben by Johanna Irrgeher, Simone Trimmel as well as Michael Schober. Her thesis was awarded, after a review by an expert jury, at the University of Vienna on June 30, 2025. We congratulate the awardee to her excellent work.
