The visitors were welcomed by Rector Peter Moser, Vice-Rector for Teaching and International Affairs Thomas Prohaska as well as Dr. Volkmar Kircher and Jie Zhou from the International Relations and European University department. During the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between the TU Leoben and CUMTB on the establishment of an international college. Productive discussions were also held on the continued development of the joint initiatives.
In the past, the Technical University of Leoben and CUMTB, together with other partner universities, established the AMRD (Advanced Mineral Resources Development) programme, which has since grown into a successful and internationally recognized collaboration. Building on this strong foundation, another milestone was reached in early 2025 with the signing of the new cooperation agreement between CUMTB and the Technical University of Leoben to create an international college. During the recent visit, the representatives of both universities explored further details regarding the structure and vision of this international college.
The delegation also visited the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering and the Zentrum am Berg (ZaB), where the innovative research and infrastructure left a lasting impression.
