The Green Incubator Leoben is being established with the support of the European Union and national funding as a pioneering centre for sustainable innovation at the Technical University of Leoben. As part of this project, the historic ZAT building is being extensively refurbished, modernised and sustainably expanded, creating a forward-looking campus environment.
Once completed, the building will provide space for start-up teams from the Centre for Applied Technology as well as for university facilities, thereby fostering a vibrant innovation ecosystem at the heart of the campus. Open meeting areas, flexible seminar and event rooms, a modern prototyping workshop and fully equipped office space will support the entire start-up process from the initial idea to market readiness. Particular emphasis will be placed on green-tech and high-tech solutions, systematically supported by tailored programmes and funding instruments.
Through close cooperation with partners from academia, industry and public administration, the Green Incubator will not only strengthen the profile of the Technical University of Leoben but also enhance the regional culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. In doing so, the project sends a strong signal for the integration of research, sustainable technology development and societal responsibility.
This investment is financed by the European Union under the IBW/EFRE & JTF funding programme.
