Energy Engineering

Field of study: Resources

Do you want to be part of the energy transition?

The training at the Technical University of Leoben gives you the tools you need to optimise energy use in processes and systems as an energy technician and to evaluate economic and ecological efficiency. After completing your studies, you can help shape the world in industry, at energy suppliers, in research or in energy trading.
For example, you can pursue a career as an energy manager in companies or as an engineer for processes, plants or energy networks.

How can energy be made available at the right time, in the right amount and in the right place? And as sustainably as possible?

In the Bachelor's programme in Energy Technology, you will tackle the challenges of our time and find efficient and climate-friendly solutions for the energy requirements of processes and entire systems.

You will also acquire economic, ecological and energy law skills to develop holistic energy solutions. You will explore renewable energy sources and their integration into smart energy systems. In addition, you will learn how to optimise these systems and develop resource-saving processes to ensure a sustainable supply for future generations.

Master's programme

Ready to deepen your knowledge?

In the Master's programme, you will deepen your knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and process engineering in order to enable the sustainable and economical generation, distribution, storage and use of energy.

You can choose from the following specialisations:

  • Energy supply
  • Energy use
  • Energy process engineering
  • Energy management
