Mineral Resources Engineering

Field of study: Resources

Do you want to preserve the world for future generations?

As a raw materials engineer, you strive to find innovative and sustainable solutions to provide humanity with valuable resources in the future. You will manage national and international mining operations, work for government departments, serve as a tunnelling expert, or engage in the production of building materials, glass, ceramics, and raw materials, which you will refine into high-tech products.
For example, you could pursue a career as a mining engineer, raw materials manager, or tunnelling engineer.

How do we preserve our high-tech world? And how do we drive it forward?

In the practical and exciting Bachelor's programme in Raw Materials Engineering, you will acquire knowledge along the entire process chain, from raw material exploration and extraction to the diverse manufacturing processes of many basic materials used in society, such as glass and concrete, to the development and operation of underground infrastructures such as underground railways and road and railway tunnels.

You will learn how to reconcile mining and nature in order to secure the supply of raw materials for our modern lives.

Master's programme

Ready to deepen your knowledge?

Our master's programmes offer you the opportunity to gain international experience in global raw materials technology. For example, you can study mineral raw materials and industrial waste processing in Finland, Chile or Croatia as part of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programme (PROMISE).

The following master's programmes are also available:

  • Raw Material Extraction & Tunnel Construction
  • Raw Material Processing
  • AMRD
  • Building Materials & Ceramics
