The "Grafit" experimental workshop for the Leoben teaching and learning laboratory was developed as part of the „Sparkling Science funding project "Once upon a time…“. The focus is on the occurrence, mining and various properties of the raw material.
 

„Hands-on“ in small groups

In just under a dozen experimental stations, the pupils work in small groups of two to three children during the "Grafit" workshop. With the help of a prepared "research notebook", they ask various "research questions" and test their assumptions. All the necessary materials are provided. Over the course of approximately two hours, the children immerse themselves in the exciting world of research, supported and accompanied by a team of students and educators from the Montanuniversität and the Augustinum Private University of Education.

The workshop is suitable for primary school classes (especially lower secondary level II), but also for Year 7 secondary school and grammar school pupils (Year 5).
