Workshop-Modul „Metals“

In our everyday lives, we are surrounded by a wide variety of different metals. And they all have different properties, such as different thermal conductivity, behaviour in magnetic fields and much more. To bring this to life for children, school classes have the opportunity to visit the teaching and learning laboratory at the Montanuniversität Leoben.

„Hands-on“ in small groups

Within approximately two hours, small groups of two to three pupils independently carry out various experiments on the subject of metals. The results of the experiments are scientifically documented in the "research notebook" provided. This gives the children the opportunity to immerse themselves in the impressive world of research. A team of students and educators from the Montanuniversität and the Augustinum Private University of Education are on hand to provide support. And, of course, there is also something to take home and continue researching.

The workshop is suitable for primary school classes (especially lower secondary level II), but also for Year 7 secondary school and grammar school pupils (Year 5).

We look forward to welcoming lots of curious little researchers!
