Celebrating Korean New Year

Have you heard of Seollal? In Korea, you can welcome each new year twice. The western New Year's Eve celebration on 31 December is not very widespread, but is nevertheless celebrated more often these days, especially among younger people. The "real" New Year, however, is Seollal. Seollal is the name of the New Year according to the Chinese lunar calendar, which is celebrated in some other East Asian countries besides Korea. It falls on a day between the end of January and the end of February and is one of the two most important Korean holidays.
